From your experience, what are the cheapes prices for the M-Tech kit, and where did you get yours. Also, what did it cost you to actually paint and put it on. Tyring to justify the purchase - both front and rear bumpers were lightly scratched (both on a parking lot, different occasions) and the cost to repaint both bumpers is $850. I'm thinking maybe its time to invest in M-kit, but trying to get an estimate on the cost and see if worth it. Thanks!

$1280 from CrevierBMW in Santa Ana, CA. Shipping is additional $200. You can also try and PM Garry of Newport BMW or quad_m. Both are members of this forum. Contact info for Crevier is parts@crevierbmw.com. Another option would be to ask your local BMW dealer if they would price match. Good luck.

Crevier quote was $1295 + $300 shipping! My local dealer has it for $1600, so $5 is not worht the hassle!
I wonder why Kevin quoted me more than he did for you?
In any case, I will ask my dealer if they will match Crevier's price. Any other suggestions?

The guy I dealt with, Vaheh, had left Crevier. Initially, Vaheh quoted me $1300, but he agreed to $1280. Since I was local, I drove and picked up the really big boxes. I'm not sure if the $200 for shipping is what Vaheh had quoted others. It might have been $300.

You have to consider you will be paying tax if you pickup local, so it's more that $5 savings.

Just to clarify, this price is WITHOUT painting, correct?

You can only get the kit primed here in the US. Some vendors can order the kit painted but charge quite a bit. I believe that Rover Active can order the kits painted.

I remember seeing a thread with pictures of the M-Tech kit contents as it comes in the boxes - can't find it now - anyone knows were to look?

TexaZ3 08-15-2006 08:17 AM

Another question - has anyone installed the kit themselves? I wonder what is involved in the installation, and whether it is straightforward take off old parts/put on new parts, or its more involved than that?

I'm a very capable in DIY and completed many similar projects, have a nicely equipped garage and lots of tools. Does the kit comes with instruction on how to put it together?

thanks for all your replies.

RodyBMW did the M-Tech install himself. He can help you out.
