M-tech aero kit

A dealer told me yesterday the cheapest way to get an M-tech aero kit on a new 535i was to have it installed at the port. That they have a full bodyshop at the port of entry. What does this mean? Do you pay through the dealer, go down to the port?

yeah, pretty much the rule of thumb for life.
Do ur due dilligence (which you are) and find out what is the best price.
Never trust anyone on face value, cross reference them.
Dealer also will tell you that an oil change is 200$, but u and i both know u can do it with OEM stuff for 1/2 the price.

I disagree with other posters. I had installed at the port for $1,600. Paint was flawless and installation was by BMWNA employees who do the job frequently, not a body shop who is doing it's first set.
On the OEM bumper parts, there isn't a lot you can do with them unless a local shop wants them. Shipping costs are high due to box size and nobody is going to pay much for them unless they need your color parts due to paint prep required to repaint.
My $0.02.

I was saying the opposite. Let's say you get the Mtek kit installed on ur car and have the original in ur garage.
When you sell the car put the original back on and sell the Mtek to someone for 1000$. It think you would come out on top.
but 1600$ from dealer, i would hit that and take ur 2cents.
Can this be done after you have the car, i mean the port of entry is not too far from me.

My dealer advised they do not install the Kit at the VPC anymore. Thus, I had the dealer install the full OEM Kit at the dealership a few days ago.

If it's a lease, have the port do it when you order the car. easier and cheaper. if you bought the car, get it from trinity.
