My wife ordered it yesterday through the dealer. We saw pictures of the M Aero in this site and decided to see if it could be installed at the VPC. The car (530xi) is on the Maersk Teal, set to arrive in SC today. My wife called about it yesterday and the dealer faxed her order in yesterday after checking with BMWNA. The dealer had only recently heard of the M Aero kit and did not know it could be installed at the VPC.
I hope this helps!

So basically it can be done at the last minute?
My dealer said it needs to be ordered 5 days before arrival, I guess that is correct. Im just making sure they dont mess it up.

[/quote]How much did you pay for the M-aero kit with VPC install?

We are paying about $3k total including VPC installation, which took into account a BMWCCA 10% discount on the parts -- but not labor. I know it is possible to get the parts for less from Crevier, etc. but it is worth a premium to us to have the kit installed at the VPC rather than after delivery.

I have been working on this for over a week now with several dealers. They all knew nothing about it originally but are getting up to speed.
What I have discovered:
1. BMW has a bulletin out to its dealers that deals with this. Tell them to look up the bulletin.
2. It is installed at the VPC, which will invoice the dealer as follows: Parts - $1,012 & labor $1,449 for a total of $2,461. This does not include the rear spoiler which invoices to dealer at $353.
3. MSRP is $3,285 without spoiler and another $505 for the spoiler.
4. One dealer has offered to order it for me at his cost. I have requested my local dealer to do the same. We will see how bad they want my business.
5. They think, but are not sure, that it will take an addtional 3 days or so at the port to have it installed and to have the car delivered.
I will be getting it.
