I searched the forum and didn't quite find what I was looking for. I hope this isn't redundant, or have been answered previously.
I'm simply looking for the best option for lowering my ride. I was leaning towards Eibach but I want to get some other opinions before i just jump in. Is ther any other options I sould be researching? thanks in advance for your input.

Hello,
I wouldn't do it if I were you.
If BMW doesn't propose sport suspension on its "X" models (not talking about SUV), there might be a good reason...
Of course, that's only MY opinion.

Ask for Kevin at Turner Motorsports. He was very helpful helping me find the right suspension mod for my 550.

Hey C, should you or I take a crack at this!??
Ok, I'll go first.
Order the H&R Sport springs for the "xi" sedan at turnermotorsports.com or allsprings.com (same company...different websites). These are the only springs available for the xi model, and as far as I know, there are no coilovers yet available for the xi. C, correct me if I'm wrong?
And ignore that Etienne guy in the above post. He's clueless! My (and the other xi owners' with H&R's) car looks and handles great with the lowering springs. It's much more aggressive looking and riding now.
Now for the downside...the ride can get a little "bouncy" over uneven pavement on the highway, etc., but that is the price you pay with only doing springs without the struts. Remember, with the shorter springs your struts' compression ratio will be off slightly. So, you get the look and the great cornering, but you sacrifice some comfort over the bumps and potholes.
In the end, it's worth it if you want your car to look right on larger wheels..19's or more, and if you want to go with a more aggressive look, especially with a staggered wheel/tire set up. It's actually a MUST to do the drop with these springs on xi's with larger wheels!
Check out my gallery for "after" pics and check out C's Bimmer also.

H&R is the only company that makes springs for the XI. In fact, there's a member on here who's selling his (brand new I believe...never been installed). I think his name is frankie970 or something... New is around $260, so he'll probably charge you less.
EDIT: Found the member selling his XI springs. Here's the thread (check out his second post to his thread)...

One more thing to add to what DrLev99 said above...make sure you get the Sedan XI springs and not the Touring/Wagon springs. There is a difference.
