I'm sorta new on here. I've been lurking but haven't made many posts... I love all the great information I get off of here, just wish I had the money to mod haha. Anyways, I was thinking of possibly lowering my car and getting new shocks... now i don't have the money to change the wheels as well to a bigger wheel and I know most people, if not everyone, gets bigger wheels when they lower. Would it look pretty crappy with 17" rims when lowering 1-1.5 inch? I got an 04 530i non sport.

Thanks
jonathan.

Hi there!
I don't think it would look bad. I used to have a non-sport, but lowered the car with KW Street Comfort coilover set just before christmas. And my winter setup is 17" wheels with 225/50 Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 tires. Go visit my few threads that include photos and you'll see how it looks. The links are in my signature below.

edit: By the way, we lowered the car about an inch .

Hey bud, don't worry, start slow! I have my 17" stock rims on for Winter on my non sport 530i right now and it looks great. See my sig for what I installed, (although I can't wait to put my 19" 166's back on). It was cost-effective and great results.
