Hi r9ndy, how did you manage to apply the overlay over the "bump" on the taillight? Can you provide more details, perhaps a pic would really help. Beside, what % is the tint as I did not see any option for the pre-cut kits? Thanks!
I'm quoting what it says on their site:

"Lamin-x precut kits cover all four taillights on your 2004-2007 BMW E60. Precut kit includes handling tabs for ease of installation, application tool, & complete installation instructions. **Gunsmoke Kits allow 90% light output** **Smoke-Out Kits allow 83% light output** **Charcoal Kits allow 70% light output**"

If you go on their site, it gives you a demo of all 3 tint colors. I went with Smoked. It allows 83% of the light through and is probably the color what most of the aftermarket pre-tinted lights come in.

Per r9ndy's post, I don't believe he went with the "pre-cut" kit. They didn't have it avail at the time. I'm sure this new kit takes into account the bump, but it's all about using the heat gun and shrinking it down, over the bump so there's no bubbles.

I'm going to take my kit and bring it to a professional tint shop and have them throw it on. I did the clear parts myself, but this could be a trickier job. I'll throw them $20 and have the pro's do it.

im not sure about other state laws but in ny it is illegal to "place a cover over your taillights" ex. tint or taillight covers... and i also dont see how the tint film will work due to the contour of the light.. i used nightshade on my taillights and it came out perfect.. if you have any experience painting it is an inexpensive mod and it is not illegal

for the bump i simply heated the film on with a heat gun. after the film was on, i pushed all of the air bubbles towards one end and poked a syringe into the hole to suck out the excess air. sorry my car is in the shop right now, so no pics. as for the tint % C mentioned it above. i purchased the charcoal one, it is the darkest tint they offer, they also have 'smoke' which is not too dark if thats what your looking for
