Great point. But there is something to be said about doing it one at a time as it'll give you something new to admire about your car every now and then. On the other hand, you might just feel your car is incomplete so you'll end up rushing to the next mod anyway. hahaha

Modding is a love/hate thing.
i agree that doing things one at a time gives you something to look forward to and keeps you interested in your car longer. im looking to chip the car closer towards the summer and putting an exhaust, but im curious about rims with the x drive doesnt seem like there is a wide range of selection. If anyone has a vishnu or dinan chip please let me know how they like.

I m looking to start modding my car, but dont know where to begin? Wheels, m-tech, chip, exhaust, spoiler. . . Any suggestions? Is there any proper order? All i have done is tint.
Well what are you tying to accomplish? More power or looks first?

Power:

1. reflash ECU
2. intake/exhaust

Looks:

1. springs/coilovers
2. wheels
3. kit

any 3 series or an xi 3 series?
Any of the RWD 3 series wheels will work. Just make sure the offset of that wheel is around ET35-ET40. If you go staggered, make sure the rear is around ET45 or so...

xi that is. or you can do like me and do aftermarketwheels I say to heck with bimmer wheels try something different
That's not correct. When I referred to 3 series wheels, those would be the RWD 3 series wheels. These have the high offsets that are similar to that of the E60 xi. For example, I have the M3 CSL wheels which fit perfectly on my xi.

One more thing for others that are xi owners and reading this...

Bookmark this site. Use it as a tool when looking into new wheels.

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Your old specs are: 8" width with an offset of ET43 (If you have the OEM 124's in staggered, your rear offset is ET55 with a width of 9").
