Hey ALL!!
i have a 2007 530i non-spprt package. Im newto this BMW thing, coming from an suv on 26's now im in the 19"-20" class. I wanted to put some rims on my ride and would appreciate some feedback from everyone.
should i go 19's or 20's??? will 20's ruing the nice smooth ride my 5 has stock? and what about the offset. whats a good offset to go with once i have the rims put on? i dont want them out past the fender rubbing.
thanks alot everyone!!

Most members tend to go with 20's when they buy a second set of wheels although some do run 19's because of shitty road conditions or they want more rim protection without up sizing the tires.
The ride will be slightly stiffer just because you're going to have less tire but it's definitely not harsh.
Changing the springs and shocks will have a much greater effect on the ride quality.
As for offsets its all going to depend on the wheel you get i.e. width, staggered or non staggered setup and the look you want.
Most go with a flush with the fender look although a few members take it to the limit going with s super stretched tire and super aggressive offsets.
Here is my current wheel setup no rubbing, no issues, flush fitment:
20' Miro 111's in hyper silver
Front wheels - 8.5' width, et18 offset with 5mm spacer so the offset is really more like et13
Rear wheels - 9.5' width, et18 offset
Front tires - Falken 452's 225/30/20
Rear tires - Falken 452's 285/25/20

I have a set of staggered 19's for sale (see the link under my signature for images and specs.) You can also scan the for sale section on this forum. As for 19 or 20's, its a personal preference between looks, performance, price, etc.

Hi,
What types of rims are you looking for and what's your budget? I specialize in DPE wheels which are 3-piece forged wheels. Check my signature link for more details.

+1 for personal preference. also in general, we usually recommend getting 19s if the wheel you desire doesnt have a lip, and 20s if you would like wheels with a lip mainly because the lip makes the face of the wheel appear a bit smaller.

Most 5 series members go with 20" sizing, however 19" sizing still looks great and gives you a bit more protection from bending the wheel, as well as a smoother ride.
The offset will depend on the wheel width, but generally you are looking around the +20 range. When choosing offsets you also need to take into consideration the tire size, and ride height of your car.
Let me know if you have any questions!
