I reckon I own most of the audio threads in this forum but hell, I need to make sure I won't add another saying blown amp/subs/speakers :)
I have recently replaced all the mid-range speakers in my car to logic 7 ones and also added logic 7 tweeters. Now I want to add an amp to properly power them. There are 4 sets of speakers, each set is made of 1 x midrange and 1 x tweeter connected in parallel (according to Logic 7 spec sheet attached) Each speaker is rated 40w and 4 ohms, the resistance being 2 ohms for the pair (one channel). I am trying to work out what power the amp needs for each of the 4 channels. Will it need 40w + 40w = 80w RMS per channel @ 2 ohms? Or 40w RMS for each channel @ 2 oms? |
yeah i think imma have to do the same i could hear crackling when i play my mids really loud. Did you get those logic 7 speakers new?

No, got them from Germany.
But all the speakers are being driven by the head unit (EU standard audio) and lack power big time, especially now that I've added 4 extra tweeters. |
