I had seen a picture of an I-Drive knob on a 5 series that had little amber lights around it. From what I know this was an Individual car. Anyone know how to order this knob? I can't find a part number.

Individual parts can only be ordered for cars with a VIN registered at BMW Individual.
The lighted controler knob seems to be a prototype/showcar thing. Nobody has ever seen it on a regular/individual car yet, and nobody has found any more info about it.
The same applies to the window switches in that very same car (Frankfurt Auto Show):

Thanks!! I think it is really cool. They should put it on all cars or give us in the US the oppurtunity to order Individual cars.

Iceman, is that window switch a touch switch? Why would they have made that and not make it available at some point. I am sure someone out there can get their hands on one of those Extremely cool Switches and that I drive knob.

Peace

Why does anyone need a lighted I-drive knob? It's not that hard to locate in the dark.
