Lic Plate lights wont turn on!

My Ride: 2004 Blacked out 530i, Carbon Fiber Pillars, Carbon Fiber Emblems (Wheels, Steering Wheel and Hood/Trunk). Blacked out kidney Grill, Smoked side marker lights, 15mm Rear Spacers, K&N Filter, Window Tint, Navigon Syst. Breyton Front Lip. Bilistein Coil Over Suspension Front & Rear Droped 1.5" Genuine M5 Pedal set. Mtechnik side skirts, RPI Exhaust.
I feel like total jack ass! They led and I did install them backwards, wow. I fixed them thanks guys.

While the car was running but with the lights off, i pulled the bulbs out and replaced the OEM ones back on, "PROBLEM" They wont turn on anymore!!!!!!!!! Did i burn a fuse or something? Was i suppose to have the car off? 
dont worry, i did that before too. i installed everything like an idiot and about 2 bulbs turned on. LOL.
