I noticed a crack in the windshield. Upon feeling the outside, there is no point of impact. I recall reading about cracks that have formed and this seems to be a stress crack. What is the protocol to get this repaired? In this state, glass is repaired free of charge, however, I don't want some cheap ass replacement.
Thanks.

Demand your insurance company uses OEM BMW glass. State Farm Insurance tried giving me something else but I convinced them that "the dealer told me the rain sensing feauture wouldn't work without BMW glass" and they bought it. Glass is covered 100% in Minnesota as well and it only took about 30 minutes for them to complete. Auto Glass Specialists picked up the glass from the BMW dealer and drove over to my work and installed it. Piece of cake.

I agree with WASUPDU...make sure it's got the BMW printed on the glass!

I had the windshield replaced by the dealer as it was determined to be a stress crack. I didn't have to go through my insurance company. Also, it is BMW glass.
