Left Front Parking Light Malfuction - Angel Eye Replace?
2005 BMW 545i SMG 99,850 miles. Purchased 11/2004.
Yesterday I received an iDrive notification that my left front parking light is malfunctioning. I have the active xenon headlights. Visual inspection revealed that my angel eyes on the left side are out. My car is long out of warranty, and I am suspecting that a dealer fix for this would be a full light replacement and very $$$$. Would this be a good time to consider an aftermarket angel eye upgrade? I'm wondering if I could order something like the AngeliBright and do a far less expensive DIY fix? Or do you think there might be something more wrong that an angel eye upgrade won't fix? Looking for advise, guys. Thanks in advance. |
Nm, was going to suggest new H8 bulb but you are pre-LCI. Can you swap bulbs from left to right, and if it's simply the bulb order a new set (either OE or upgrade)?

Now the iDrive warning is gone, and the angel eyes are working.
I just had a software update done to the car a few days ago. Wonder if that has anything to do with this? |

I'll mention this too: remove the round access cover and inspect the wiring inside of the headlight housing.... |
