From the look of the cable its very similar to the E46 cable that I modify. This will mean that the retrofit cable is not exactly plug and play and the car will need to be opened up from the tail to the boot to get this cable installed. That long wire needs to reach the LCM that sits in the front. And $3300 will only get you the parts, this install is going to be expensive and plus the LCM coding. What were the BMW guys thinking off!! But atleast the wait is finally over and we have an OEM solution. Now its just a matter of time for someone to figure out what minimum parts are needed to get this retrofit to work, instead of buying the full set.
