Hi,

Does anyone know if the LCI grilles are different from the pre-LCI grilles?

Thanks!

Doesnt the LCI have some fancy flap closing mechanism behind the grills to reduce drag?

I don't think that's available here in the states.

I think it was on diesel cars to help during cold startups or something.

There is a subtle shape difference between LCI -and pre-LCI models.

I swapped out the black grills for a chrome one when I bought my LCI. The dealer said they were different from the pre-LCI and had to wait for the parts from Germany.

Its not related to cold start-up but was advertised as a fuel reduction feature i.e. less drag better fuel economy.

Seems the consensus is that there is a subtle difference in the grilles.

So, would the Mtech kits fit the same or would there be a subtle difference in the area surrounding the grilles? If there is a difference, then the Pre-LCI kits wouldn't fit perfectly.

If they aren't the same I sure couldn't tell the difference with my car parked next to an LCI 535.
