So after a year (literally) of searching here, on the web and waiting for an overlay kit to come out, I'm finally taking the plunge. I went to my local shop to have my trim pieces removed (the same place that installed my m5 mirrors, coded my DVD in drive, and built my custom xi compatible quad exhaust)

Yes I don't know how to do it myself and yes I searched and referenced the various DIY's on here ....for pre LCI's

Regardless. The pieces were removed and shipped out today to Arizona were I've been following the work of a guy that mostly does ...gulp... Audi's. And it's GOOOOOD!

He has done a million a4's and 5's but only one bimmer.

I will be his first 5 series client. So fingers crossed. I will post progress pics as he updates his blog.

There already are carbon fiber e60 kits, while they are hard to find. I installed it on my car recently.

^^ looks like you have a pre-LCI. An LCI kit doesn't exist sadly

Although the 'kit' does look nice in its own right, I actually think i prefer the flat appearance of the actual fiber over the high gloss of the kit.

curious to see what the end result of the fiber material overlay comes out like.

That's funny, I actually prefer the gloss of the kit! Lol. To me it looks more stock.

I do not really recommend this kit, I can't recall who I bought it from, I'd need to dig thru PM's. But when I installed the kit, it was scratched in one section, and the idrive button was completely wrong. I had to cut the trim and mold a bracket for it, not exactly plug and play.
