Had a question about LCI Headlights, I was thinking about retrofitting them onto my 06 M5. Just wondering if RHD LCI headlights would work on my LHD US-Spec M5? Why/why not?
Thanks guys

I think the aiming patterns would be different ... but they'd probably "fit". Check the part numbers in http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ .

I think it's the beam pattern ... AFAIK you can see it by shine the wall real close and on each side you'll see LHD pattern will be flat from the far left and become upward on the center of the beam while RHD is the other way around ... I think it was design to prevent blinding upcoming traffic and give more view to the right hand side of the road such as traffic sign.

I did not say it will not work if BMW made universal headlight then there must be an adjustable lever to shift the pattern.

no i didn't post this topic on M5Board. I've found in terms of electronics questions, e60.net is better to ask, if you have mechanical questions then m5board is the way to go

Definitely a NO NO. LHD headlights are aimed differently than RHD ones.
You do not want to blind oncoming traffic by installing a RHD lights.
