I've been telling people that I was in the process of switching out my 10mm for 12mm spacers. After what it seemed like an impossible task of removing the 10mm spacers, it was finally done (I'll write a DIY process on how to do this soon). I put my tires back and went for a test drive. Some people have reported that they were experiencing rubbing issues with 12mm when under compression.

I can report back that I did not experience any rubbing issues at all. My specs are: Sport Package, H&R Sport springs, 12mm Ichiba spacers, and General Exclaim UHP: Front - 245/35/19 & Rear - 275/30/19. I think the key to avoid rubbing or rolling your fenders would be to use 275s instead of 285s tires with 12mm. NOTE: This is only applicable with those that have 167s and 166s with ET:28.

The Toyo T1R left rear tire was showing wear and leaking air. The right rear was showing the same wear. It was just a matter of time before I would have had a leak and possibly a blowout with both rear tires. I was told that I definitely need new tires for the rear at least. So, I went ahead and replaced all four tires with General Exclaim (GE) UHP. Have hear a lot of good reviews about them, and best of all they're inexpensive. If later on the GE tires are not what I expected I'll go with the tried and true Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. I will NEVER buy Toyos again. They offer no rim protection. I have so many curb rashes on my 166s these days. :'(

Alphinewhite, go ahead and get the spacers. They're one of the inexpensive mods you can get. Contact hollywoodtrash if you want H&R 10mm spacers. For 12mm, you'll have to go with anothor vendor i.e. Ichiba (what I have) or Eibach. H&R 12mm are always back ordered. I also, would like to note I have very minimal vibrations with the 12mm. I would have zero vibrations if not for the bent wheel I need to get repaired. Be very careful with your 166s and avoid potholes at all costs.

I concur....NO rubbing yet.....Tested on New York City (pot holes city)

I have exactly the same set-up like vegatrashed...GE UHP tires,166 rims,H&R coilover(even little bit lower than Vegatrashed), and 12mm ichiban spacer.
