If you do a search on them you will find a lot of different answers. I think there are worse things to waste your money on. That being said, I have one in my 07 530xi. It doesnt make me faster than a m5 or better gas mileage than a Volt. But it gives me a little better exhaust note.

I have an ITG filter and works fine..no gains, no extra HP but a slight improvement on sound...
I think there is no need to change the OEM one, but I like modding, so what the hell...
