Currently it is like this:

I?m thinking about this because the shops can?t make the original colour, well they can do something alike, but it will always have some differences, and i don?t want that!
So that is why i thought about black...
So thumbs up or...
...thumbs down...?

have you considered powder coating vs. painting the wheels. Black 166's on your car will look great, GL

What is the difference between powder coating and paintig? The colour? Or the process used to change the original colour of the wheels?

Well if you go with black you need to have all the wheels stripped and refinished. Assuming you have them all refinished who cares if the silver they use is slightly different? As long they match you will forget the original color in a week. The black looks good, I would go with something in-between, maybe a gun metal... but whatever looks good to you...

Maybe the hypersilver look would be a good compromise. Does anyone know if that can that be accomplished in powdercoat? I don't care for the all-black wheel look on a black/dark car. That looks too "industrial" for my tastes.

Powder Coating from wikipedia:
"Powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin." The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as "whiteware", aluminum extrusions, and automobile and motorcycle parts."
