That'S not swedish, it's German, and their site can be displayed in english too.
Anyways, the 530i gets +14 HP, that's 245 HP at 6000 RPM instead of the stock 231 HP at 5900 RPM - and +20 Nm, that's 320 Nm at 4000 RPM, instead of the stock 300 Nm at 3500 RPM. Top speed 262 Km/h instead of the limited 250 Km/h. 262 Km/h = 164 mph.

Cost:

In Germany it's 849.- ?uro, part and labour.

Warranty:

1 year = 99.- ?uro
2 years = 199.- ?uro
3 years = 299.- ?uro

Certificate/documentation (needed in Germany): 119.- ?uro

They have distributors in the US. Just check their website. As I said, it's in english too.

Have you considered chip tuning yours or is it already done?

Thought about it... Bought a penthouse instead...

Seriously, if the tuner would be around the corner it would've been done allready. But I'm too lazy driving there.

I don't blame you for not getting yours chip tuned! I thought about doing mine but to be honest its a great car as it is. I'll just get the 550d when it comes out

Is it safe to supercharge your engine? Are you going to install bigger injectors and new software for the ECU? I am thinking of supercharging my car too, but I am afraid of the damage that can happen to the engine. .

It's never safe to supercharge any engine without doing a lot of mechanical modifications. Usually, you have to reduce compression rate, to improve engine cooling, to improve air intake, to cool down air going into the chambers, to change gasoline injection timing, to adjust spark timing, to improve lubrication and often to improve oil cooling, in a word a hell of work. And we should always keep on mind that there is probably no less efficient way to improve engines performance that to install a mechanical supercharger; it's not uncommon to have a 50% efficiency, or less. That means that if you want to get 50 HP more than standard, you need to produce 100 HP, because you'll lose 50 HP due to stiction, heat dissapation and bad mechanical efficiency of the bloody supercharger. It's just brute force, no finesse at all.

Their website has no link, phone #, or address for an American distributor, and their email contact form seems broken (as most email contact forms are). Anything to go on?

I also fear that their numbers are predicated on 93-octane gas available everywhere but in California.

You're right. They have changed their website, it actually showed names of dealers in the USA who are Wetterauer distributors. Anyways...

Wetterauer Automotive Engineering, Inc.
1205 Cross Creek Rd.
Valparaiso, IN 46383
Office/fax: 219-477-6806
email: info@chip-tuning.com

Wetterauer Kraftfahrzeugtechnik
Karthauserhofweg 7
56075 Koblenz
Tel.: 02 61/5 52 88
Fax.: 02 61/5 64 04

They should be able to tell you who is the closest one for you. I remember seeing an address in CA on their list...

Here in Europe, Wetterauer is considered one of the top chip tuners!

I had this from an earlier post:

"just called the NC distributer, German Speed Merchants. They said they may or may not have to send the ECU out for flashing, but that was done by the Wetterauer reps in Indiana. The individual I was speaking to was involved with an in shop issue so wanted me to call back. I will try to get more details in the PM. There are two locations listed in Indiana so I think I will try them next to see if they might be one of the "flashers". "

I'll have to check my data at home and see if I can find my contact info. I remember I spoke to a Max, speaking with heavy Germanic accent. Made me feel good that he knew what he was talking about.
