Two weeks ago I went to Digital Tuning Italia, the Italian branch of the Swiss digituner, to do the remap of my wife's Freelander. She didn't ask for it, but my feeling was that she needed more punch, the original engine being badly detuned and very weak from low to mid range. So, I remapped it and the result are really impressive. It's like driving a completely different car, with a quick and fast feeling totally unknown to the original engine. Now it's a dream, with very strong torque from 1500 rpm and the ability to rev up to 4500 without any dead spot! A real joy to drive, and very fast, too: driving back home I surpassed quite easily 180 kmh (speedometer figure) when, before the remap, I has never been able to surpass 160 kmh.

I was so excited that decided to do the mod on my 535d, too. The people in Digital Tuning gave me a specification : 310 HP and 700 nm of torque. They say they can easily exceed 345 HP, but figure could be very risky for the engine's health, so they suggest to stay within 310 HP maximum. On tuesday I go there and in a couple of hours I'll be back. Keep you informed.

Thought about it... Bought a penthouse instead...

Seriously, if the tuner would be around the corner it would've been done allready. But I'm too lazy driving there.

That'S not swedish, it's German, and their site can be displayed in english too.
Anyways, the 530i gets +14 HP, that's 245 HP at 6000 RPM instead of the stock 231 HP at 5900 RPM - and +20 Nm, that's 320 Nm at 4000 RPM, instead of the stock 300 Nm at 3500 RPM. Top speed 262 Km/h instead of the limited 250 Km/h. 262 Km/h = 164 mph.

Cost:

In Germany it's 849.- ?uro, part and labour.

Warranty:

1 year = 99.- ?uro
2 years = 199.- ?uro
3 years = 299.- ?uro

Certificate/documentation (needed in Germany): 119.- ?uro

They have distributors in the US. Just check their website. As I said, it's in english too.
