Amazon.com has the K&N filter on sale for the E60 5 series for only $28.83 with free shipping. That's a savings of over $35.00
Just go to www.amazon.com and type in 33-2294 in the search bar and then BAM!!

So does anyone out there in e60forum land already HAVE this airfilter installed? I'm really curious as to the power advantage (if any) and noise level increase coming from the engine compartment. I've had these filters on my cars (pre-BMW) before and it seems to always make that annoying "muffled" bogging noise when you hit the gas -- rather than maintaining the quiet peace from the cockpit.
PLEASE - any feedback. Cuz if the price is right and this little gem is a useful tool for my engine....i need to order ASAP!

Cheers.

jet190rs has the K&N filter on his 2005 545i and NeRwEEzy on his 2007 530i. They mentioned that it made their exhausts, Remus (jet190rs) and Eisenmann (NeRwEEzy), louder.

Can anybody please remind me how often the air filter needs to be changed in the E60 according to the maintenance schedule?

I have it as well, I can't really pick up on any sound difference from engine or exhaust. Maybe the exhaust is slightly deeper...
But the engine definately breathes and pulls better at high speed. I like it.
Definately recommended if you go for a remap.

This is an exceptional price - I got it in Europe for $110. A 545i/645i K&N air filter will NOT fit an I6 engine.

Isn't it included as part of the free maintenance in the USA for the first 50,000 miles?
