Ordered my Valentine 1 and had it shipped to work, so I just got it. Cant wait to go home and install it. and test it
Since this is my first radar detector... I'm looking for any advise as to what settings or mode to use it on???
Any info would be helpful
thanks

I remember seeing a vendor on the e46fanatics forum that carried a cool metal mount for the V1 that custom mounts the V1 just under your rearview mirror and then you can hardwire it to the area in your roofliner behind where the oem garage opener buttons go. I saw pics of a few e46's with this setup and it look great.

I like the capital "L" setting but then again, in Pennsylvania, local cops can't use radar so your mileage may vary...
If this is your first detector, don't get comfortable and assume you're immune to getting a ticket. It literally takes years (and sometimes a few tickets) to really learn and/or understand what the unit is telling you when it goes off, etc.
Good luck but be careful!
