Hey all,

Well i finally brought my 545 to a exhaust shop and got them to take out the mid section of the piping containing the 3 resonators i believe? I've kept the stock muffler and replaces the midsection with a slightly larger diameter piping... sounds really nice and aggressive! well worth the time and money spent.

Just one question, I notice that when i'm revving it in N or P.... the interior lights dim quite noticeably (I had the door open so the dome lights were on) is there any reason for this? or something I should look into?

thanks in advance!!

The lights issue might be an alternator/battery related issue.

I didn't think AFE made intake for the 545i. Am i wrong? I heard you could have the 550i mdified for use on the 545i? Does anyone sell a modified 550i AFE for the 545i?

All that needs to be done to use the 550i AFE for the 545i is a new bracket to hold the sensor

Interesting... I have all 3 resonators in place, but removed the entire catback/canister thingy and just replaced it with a straight pipe. Sounds awesome and I don't have any dimming lights of any sort. I have been thinking about taking out possible either the pair of resonators, or that one single one, but paranoid that it would cause my car to drone, which it doesn't do right now. I really really need to get a vid of it, lots of people have requested it but just never got to it.

Well I paid a lil more than i'd would've liked to, but i got work done there before on my WRX and the mans welding is very very good, and unfortunately the shop owner was there at the time so I had to bargain to get the price is something reasonable.... he wanted to charge me 450 plus taxes, and after an hour i managed to get it down to 300 taxes in..

if his welder didn't do such great work!!! lol
