Dinan says (no surprise) that the JRZ shocks are more refined and better in every way than Konis - softer and more complaint over sharp bumps then stiffer and more controlled at high speeds. I would like to upgrade but the JRZs are more than twice as expensive!!! Anyone have any input on the Konis/JRZs? My car is a lease.....

DRP

JRZs are a much higher quality damper for sure, but unless you go to the track it's really not needed. You might expect that the JRZs would give a harsh ride, but I've read some reviews where they are not that rough while giving superb performance at the same time. The level of ride quality is all relative though.

I've mentioned this in the other thread, but the dinan JRZs should be different from the JRZ RSs you get directly from JRZ. The dinan JRZs would be softer, but at the same time cost more.

If you want this level of damper though, I'd definitely get some moton clubsports instead.

I don't have experiences with either but the November issue of Bimmer Magazine (No. 62) has a few articles on a Dinan S3R-M3, a Dinan 545i and a Dinan Mini. For the M3 article, they wrote in detail about how JRZs are different than the Konis and how "sublime" the set up is with the JRZs. You should check out that article.

With regards to the Motons, maybe Heezy or someone can direct you to some reviews so you can compare/contrast. Heezy, how much are moton shocks anyway? Just curious...

I actually don't know if the motons are currently available for the e60. If pricing is similar to the M3, then they would have $3K dollar kits for street/track, all the way up to $6K+ for more dedicated track use.

JRZ makes one of the finest suspensions available, but Dinan always overprices products that perform on par with the rest of the market, or worse.

I don't know if it's possible to go to JRZ for a suspension rather than through Dinan, but if it is, that's what I'd do.
