I got the ERROR message too e60insd, but if it doesn't bother you as much to have that error message ONLY IN THE BEGINNING, then its better off without the resistor, just mho... But if your a perfectionist then I just don't know what to say...

Yep , I have had one with no problems, and then had one with intermittent code that would clear on starting, but it finally died yesterday.

Seriously, it just bothers me becuase when someone gets in my car and sees all these errors on my i-drive i feel kinda embarassed

I get an error the first few seconds when I start up the vehicle. But it then goes away.

That's normal for some cars to have the error appear for a few seconds and be cleared. It has to do with the car checking for a bulb but once it recognizes the LED is present, it will go away.
