Lol well honestly, I say this because that is what my obc says... I' m thinking that if I calculate it the old fashion wy it will be less. But typically I get 400 miles per tank and wen I go out of town I get a little more. The JB4 I don't think affected the mileage in any way. When I drive around town I would say it normal, not quick accelations etc. I think this is where your gas depletes much faster. I would agree, 21 doesn't sound correct. Our X5 gets 22...

which map do you run? how often do you run map 8?

i understand what you're getting at and i went to test drive a prius and seriously considered it for awhile. but thankfully i came to my senses and realized i don't want to waste the next few years of my life living in one :P i did the whole hypermiling, econobox thing the last several years and i decided it's time to live a little...with some practicality mixed in. i've considered other hybrids and non-hybrids as well and as someone mentioned there are other factors that make the 535 a great choice for an all arounder. the reason i ask specifically about the jb4 535 is bc i would only use premium gas for FI or high compression ratio motor such as the 535 and want to know how it compares to the 528's fuel efficiency which CAN run on regular fuel w/o issues.

link???

Whoops sorry,

^thanks for the link. i think the e9x info gives us an idea what may be possible but would still like to hear from e60 owners running map 8 consistently. anyone? also does anyone think there may be potential harmful effects on the car extensively running w turbo off?

I just did a 600 + mile trip this weekend, and there was no way in hell I was ever near 30+ miles per gallon...My 535 has a 20" wheel mod, and I'm not sure that would affect much, but I would believe that it all depends on the particular mode (1,2,3,4 or 5) and the driving style. JB4 is all about incredible performance and not about gas mileage. It's hard to keep from being aggresive since there is so much raw performance with the install.

I average 13 miles per gallon! loll

So here is my experience with map 8. Made a 100 mile run tonight from buffalo to erie and back. This is in my 08 335 so the 535 would be a little less i would guess.

On the way there it was just me in the car and 1/4 tank of gas. 27.8 MPG in Map 1 Average speed about 74mph. Was 28 but i passed a few a people lol

On the way back it was me plus about 200 pounds of cargo and a full tank of gas 29.1 MPG in map 8 going about 72 mph average. If i slowed down to 65 it would jump to about 30-31.

So if i had no cargo it most likely would be up even more. Map 8 mode has NO power at all. its kind of scary if you need to goose it to avoid something. Overall i guess it could be worth it, but i love putting the gas down in 6th and hear the turbos
