If you want massive space for a lot of music, get the classic. Cant take jogging with you.
I have a classic, iphone, and shuffle. i did use the iphone once with the adapter, but it was only because i left my classic at home.
how much music are you looking to store, and what type of capability do you want?

well around 1000+ songs, i know it sounds nothing comparing to the amount of storage you get in ipod nowadays. plus i will b listening to it at work too so something which works well on the move. so as you said anything but shuffle, what about the generation ? . some say that 2nd generation doesnt work ipod adapter, any info about that.

I would love to know as well as I have a 2nd generation and really don't want to buy a new ipod and the adapter. I have this exact question into my BMW dealership right now, so hopefully i will get an answer.

hiya bob
i bid but couldnt win, but hopefully this time i will, but there is another confusion and i hope that you guys will again sort it out. i am in a middle of this deal, but this guy gave me this part # 65110036448 for the interface. but its a different part # on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts......hg=65&fg=95. so is there any difference between these two parts or are they both same. what he says that he had that interface in his 2008 535i which was on lease so hes giving the car back thats why hes taken the interface out. so does the year between the two cars making the part # different, mine is 2006 520d but the picture of that interface he showed me looks exactly the same even the cable which attachs with the ipod bear the same part # as on real oem website but he has this cloth like stuff sticking on the interface thats why i cannot confirm the part # on it . so again HELP me

I would call the dealer to ask if the part number is compatible with your car to be safe, sorry I havent replied till now I couldnt find this post.
I paid ?165+vat for my interface from the dealer, ask them for a discount you never know.
