I don't know anything about the IRIVER. But I can say that I'm verry happy with my iPod mini. I'm a huge fan of Apple design. And if any of these music players will be able to connect to the E60 it will be the iPod, BMW and Apple has worked out an solution for older BMWs. I'm hoping for a solution that makes you see your playlists and songs on the iDrive screen, probably I'm hoping for too much...

There are many comparo tests of the iPod against all other imitators/competitors on various sites (cnet, pc world, etc.). Generally, the iPod wins these comparisons as the best music player -- but, just like BMW, you are paying a high premium for the brand. Like all things in life, you get what you pay for....

There's no way you could beat the quality of iPod, all other brands are just posers. I own iPod 40GB, and I chose it over several different Mp3 players.

Build quality and ease of use is something BMW-like.

Like it a lot...

you spent your money on a high quality and hi standard automobile? Get the Ipod!
Compare it like a BMW and a VW, the VW is ok and does it's job but that's it...no emotion, no headturner, just plain square!

Only disadvantage of the Ipod is it's blue led backlight which would better fit a VW (they have blue dials)

I can't believe I still don't have an iPod myself. I have an iMac, I love music, and I hav the aux in. My company gives them away for mktg events all the time. Seems like I'm the last person without one?!?!?!

I got one at the beginning of Jan. I held out thinking I didn't need it, and it was just one more thing to carry around in my briefcase. I've been amazed at how much I really use it. My entire 4800 song library is on it (20gig version).

It's outstanding... An exdellent purchase. Go for the iPod.

Now, if they would make an 'iPod your BMW' for the e60, I'd be in heaven.

James
