All,

I saw recently that BMW have launched an iPod adaptor for several models - X3, X5, Z4 - but NOT the 5 series.

Anyone know if there is anything in the pipeline for the 5 ?

I already have the iTrip FM modulator, which works fine, but I'd much rather have the ability to access the iPod directly from the car control - and (ideally, although almost definitely hoping too much here) thru iDrive.....

FAQ file alert!

Eventually, I think they will come out with one, assuming the BMW/Apple relationship thrives. Right now, a good FM transmitter is the main approach. It appears that the iTrip is considered the best for the iPod. Make sure to use a 12V power source for the iPod. Also, 'search' is your friend!

I contacted BMWNA today. No word on when Ipod link would be available. Bluetooth should be available in September
