Here in the UK, there's an option on all E60s called the Media Package - not sure about other countries, but this includes amongst other things the Nav-system Professional and a 6-CD changer.

I spoke to BMW today about having the iPod adaptor (which costs ?199 including taxes) fitted, and they told me that unless my car has the Professional radio fitted, it won't work. I'm not convinced - all the discussion on these boards indicate if your car has a CD changer it's a simple replacement....BMW say it won't work at all.

So has anyone fitted the iPod adaptor to a car with either the Media Package or Nav Professional successfully?

As per BMW brochure, Nav (Professional or Business) and the media package all include an upgrade to the Professional radio. So the dealer is spouting nonsense. :thumbsdown:

Just pick up the price list and show him the description of the packages (options 606, 609 and Z5L)

what is the part number for the ipod adapter unit in uk? I called bmw mayfair and they had no clue,......

The UK part number is 65 41 0 415 655 I believe. Sytner Nottingham sell them for ?199.
