My guess is that it should display Chinese, as the idrive system support Chinese.

You sure about that as the ipod display some weird codes with Chinese name song so I think the I drive being so smart (plus based on windows) will display the same giberish. Also as my windows support Chinese the itunes still display something else so that suggest something about the ability for it to display chinese properly.

I just wanted an aux in if they only know how to install it in HK. I mean the 1 series have it but not on our 5's WTF

I would doubt the iDrive can support chinese coding for the iPod. Even normal MP3's in our new S500 can't display MP3 chinese eventhough chinese display is available on the COMMAND system.

I've ordered the iPod option for my M5 when it comes in september. what my dealer stated is that all i need to do is install the ipod connector to the BMW when the ipod connection becomes available (if it's available when my car comes)

Yeah I saw it, but I really want something that can be integrated into the iDrive as I preferr the clean dash and center console. So I guess I have to live with my 6 disc changer in the mean time.

yup Hong Kong.

Over a broken phone conversation (reception was bad) with my dealer last week, he stated that if the iPod connection is not readily available for the 5series when i receive my car in September, all i need to do in the future (when ready) is to connect the line/cable.

Im assuming that means the car/iDrive will come with iPod intergration or there is a mean to unlock the function. I guess the best bet is to see the 3series iPod intergration, coz frankly I'm confused as well.

Well I hope it will be iDrive integrated by the time they figure everything out.

BTW does your screen name suggest that you have a R6?
