I did a search but was unable to locate an answer to my question ? so here goes:

I own a July 2004 built 545 e60, with Nav and Logic 7 (model year 2004.) According to my dealer, the new Ipod interface will only work with 2005 model year and newer.

Can anyone out there validate this information?

I already have the AUX port ? but would much prefer to the integrated kit, even if I had to disconnect my CD changer.

The new interface is a CD Changer emulator and it should work with ALL vehicles with already installed 6CD Changer or have the dealer programme the 6CD Changer software and you will be good to go. You may be Ok given that you have NAV but I have my doubts. Early production E60's will require a software update prior to being able to install the ipod interface (firmware in the radio head unit needs to be updated). Hence the limit currently on MY 05 and newer vehicles only. I have been told that the update will be released in September as part of the next Progman release.
