Hi all!
i have a 520D lci, and its also for my friends 525D lci.
I have just remapped both the cars with superchips Bluefin, and the outcome is great!
Now i want to change my air filter, and was planning for an open Conical filter, something in the lines of K&N Typhoon air intake kit or just a normal big cone.
After reading around in the forum i see that many are not happy with this or even the CAI...i see recommendations for Stock Replacement drop in filter+RPI Scoops.
Could you all please advise what would be the best solution for my car (its diesel) and also if to go for stock replacement drop-in ones which is best- oiled filters like K&N or dry paper filters like GreenCotton/Pipercross?
After this should i put the scoops too? would they be really helpful in diesel models too?
Thanks!

I don't think that a scoop would fit the diesels, since they have these flaps that open and close automatically, they are there for some reason, IMHO I would let it as it is..
There are only a few filters that can be replaced with the stock one and call me crazy but this would be to dangerous for me in a diesel engine...

Hi ivano,
i dont think a stock replacement filter is dangerous at all for diesel cars. i hv been using them in my other cars from past 5-6 years...
