I know everyone on this board hates aFe. That's a fact. But so far I've had good experience with them.
I have a Stage 2 full replacement on my M3, and I love it. The throttle response is faster, the car feels like it runs a bit more healthy.
So I ended up purchasing a Stage 2 full replacement for the 550i, its been a few days since the install.
I'm asking for first hand experiences, those who HAD purchase or currently have it on the car, not the one's who read about it.
What I noticed....
I noticed that the car feels a bit more say 'sluggish' when stop and go, but feels like the car breathes better, and accelerates faster after the car starts moving. But I think it's not as "torqy". My father took the car for two days, and he said that the 'gears seem to shift a bit more delay'. I might be biased and think it's normal. I do like it, it sounds great, i'm 50/50 on the power. aFe states that they have proved dynos for gains. They said if there is none, they are willing to refund fully. Just wondering what other 'first hand' owners experience?

did you happen to read the euro tuner article and their results with that they had on their e92 m3 build with an afe intake kit by chance?
also, why not just dyno your car with stock box versus afe kit...it'll be worth your time and money...

I just read about 20+ threads about this damn thing. Quite disappointed right now, finding it the hard way. Just had a pretty go experience with it on my M, I'll give it that '200 miles' but will contact aFe meantime.

So you started off a post making sure no-one gave you any opinions based on their reading/research and a few hours later you are dissapointed in the product you purchased because you finally read about it?

I've had trust in the product since I've had it installed on my previous cars, I just spoke with afe and their tech Michael said they never heard of such issue, said he'll get back to me on it, let's see what they say this time, they said this is a "newer version" just couldn't believe that it was such a drastic difference. FAIL.
