I was planning on getting OEM style 166 M5 wheels until I realized that they may not fit properly on my 535i because of the offset. Has anyone on this board done this installation? I called several wheel shops and they told me that they can not guarantee anything with OEM wheels however they offered me a good replica wheels and guarantee that they will fit perfectly and that they are the same quality as OEM. What do you say about this? I'm not a big fan of replica parts.. but if OEMs don't fit I guess I have no choice....

I think OEM wheels are really the best way to go since everything else above them is counting on them . There are plenty of members here who have "less than stellar" performance issues with non OEM wheels, non OEM might be fine for some body mods etc but I don't think wheels is where you want to start screwing with the " PLAN " ..... Good Luck

OEMs fit fine... did you see my responses to your PMs? I would stay away from replicas... yes there are some good ones out there... but at that price might as well get OEMs... The trouble with finish, roundness, center hub bore size is risky... I wouldnt want to deal with vibrations...

As long as you use 245/35ZR19 front & 275/30ZR19 rear tires they fit w/out any problems.

You can use 245/40 and 275/35s but under full compression the fronts will slightly scrape the front fender.

Any mix and match of those combinations or the OEM rear tire you'll have inconsistent rolling diameter fronts vs rears... not to say that that wont work... it will but I rather have rolling diameters close amongst axles...

Yeah I would not want to get involved with replicas. I actually never had any replica parts on any of my BMWs before. I'm a fan of OEM stuff. I'm glad there is a solution. I will go with 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 as you suggested.

Do you guys know of a good online tires retailer? I'm planning on putting ContiSport2 or ContiSport3 on those wheels.

I never installed spacers before. Do they change they way car drives or absolutely no difference? Do you get less performance or less handling with them?
