Hey Rob, MaTRIX,

Do you have a model number for the Alpine 350 watt sub / amp package?

Guest_Rob: On what are you basing your comment #1? Please state where you are coming up with this "knowledge." I'm sorry to say this, but being unregistered and unknown around these parts gives you no credibility. Please, let's have some backup.

Also, your comment (7) is completely worthless without a rating (milifarads, maybe) on that capacitor. Where are you coming up with this stuff. Please advise.

Thanks much,

Sam

I depends on what your definition of a (car) sub actually is, but really I would go along with Guest_Rob, as there is a pretty hefty (but graceful) roll off below 60Hz with the built in "subs". This is not a bad thing as such, but I doubt it meets many people's defintion of a sub.

A reference sub (or "full-range") in a very good home or car system will be rolling off somewhere below 30Hz

Here is a pic of the location of the L7 speakers in the 7series. It's the same on the 5 series.

Thanks for the help.
I was still trying to remember where the speakers are on the standard sound system.

Thanks Ski and IceMan. I appreciate your help.

I called my dealer yesterday to see if I could get the L7 added, however the car is in production now and therefore to late.

Would you recommend adding an aftermarket bass at this point?
