Install help!

I received my M Shifter Knob today and for the life of me cant get the OEM one off!
Are there any tips/special instructions, or do I just need to pull harder !

My Ride: 2006 BMW 530i Alpine White, Sport Package, 6MT, Auburn interior
2007 Acura TSX, Black on Black, 6MT, OEM Body Kit

Whether it's an automatic or a manual you just have to pull straight up, pretty hard too I might add. If you want to keep the old shift knob for some reason, don't twist it, cause you'll break the turning lock off.

I found it easiest to put transmsson in gear 2nd or so so stick was back, then pull straight up hard.
I love the look and the feel, plus it's short than the OEM shifter..
