I have been thinking about what I could do that would be slightly different and still look good. I can get these done pretty cheaply (co-workers cousin owns a body shop), but what do you guys think - I like different.

You can order the gloss black trim from Garry I know (he asked me which I wanted), and maybe from Frank and Trinity as well. I personally like it. I have seen the outer ring of the kidney grilles painted body color on lighter cars, but the slats are usually black or chrome as I recall.

I guess it just depends on your overall theme. I decided to go matte black on everything a few months ago, so I stick with that. Gloss would look nice too, though. Post pics.

I will definitely post pics when I decide which way I want to go. I like the gloss black window trim of the M5 a lot better than the shadowline, not to knock SL trim just my preference. And for the grilles, still deciding if all color keyed, color key the chrome trim, or leave the chrome trim and color key the slats.

I say go for it! I think it will look good...And I've also priced out the trim from Gary and the prices are good for the gloss trim. Its definately a few hundred more than the matte black would cost if you were going to purchase it though. But If they are saying it will hold up on the window trim I would do it...it should look good.

A question though did you think about painting the pillars also? I actually have had some suggest that...figured I would throw it out there.

yeah, definitely have to paint the pillars too. It wouldn't look right otherwise.
