well i care about the weight after i removed my m6 replica miros....it was almost like driving a new car. those wheels were so damn heavy, my already slow 530 was not fun to drive anymore with the added weight. trust me it was a huge difference.
obviously i know im not going to keep the same weight going from a 17 inch to a 19in. but i do not want to have the same experience i did when driving with heavy wheels.

It's not going to be easy going up in rim size 2 inches and not adding significant weight, especially if you can't afford to go with a forged wheel.
I agree with you on the hub centric issue but my LM's were left over from my M3 and I run spacers and longer bolts to make up the offset difference. I never used spacers before and was concerned but I have no problems at all. I have been using the LM's with spacers for two years and I also use spacers for my winter set up which are 17" wheels (again left over from my M3)
Picking the right wheels when you are on a budget takes a lot of research and time. Good luck and I'll keep an eye out for possibilities.

there really is no way around it, most cast wheels which are "reasonable" when it comes to price are very heavy
if you want light weight wheels you need forged, but their cost is much more, usually cast is around $1000 and forged can be $4000
you need to decide if the weight is worth living with or if spending the extra $3k is worth it for you
when i went from cast to forged the difference was incredible, it was totally worth it but i also got a great deal too

If you are on a budget, why don't you surf E90post and M3post for used wheels?
Theres TONS of options there and since they're used, you could possibly find a deal to scoop up, whether it be OEM, cast, or forged wheels. I see iforged wheels/tires sell for like 1400, VMR's with tires for around 1000, and the list goes on. Just slap on some spacers if the offsets aren't aggressive enough.
I really think you are putting too much emphasis on the weight aspect when it should be expected to have increased weight when you upgrade to bigger wheels.
And honestly, even if you find the right wheels with the right look and the right price, down the line you're going to want to switch it up anyways. I think that statement is very true for most of us, so take a chance and just try something out!

member inku2 has a very nice set of painted 935s for sale - they are gloss black and 20s, but they'll be perfect for you, Brett (if you can convince him to give you a deal )

935s are hub centric. Not sure why this keeps coming up. No rings, snug on the hub and no vibrations....
In a 20" wheel, you are gonna have to spend 1000+ bucks a wheel to get much lighter than a 935 at around 300 bucks a corner. And I feel like there is more hype than anything else in regards to a 2-3 pound weight difference. I know all the theories and understand the physics behind it... It's just that my real world experience over the last 15 years of modifying cars and racing cars tells me that 99% of people aren't gonna see any difference between a 28 pound wheel and a 24 pound wheel.
I didn't look at any 19s, so no input there.
And FWIW, it looks like the 935s are called 111s now.
Keeping mine, BTW, so don't think this is some kind of sales pitch
