I need to replace the dash cover by the CD Player and Air-con controls because the previous owner kinda scratched them up. The dealer wants 500 dollars for the repair,
So I am doing it myself (or at least trying to). I can buy the cover online for 150. I am not sure how to install it though.
Any help?

Try Garry from BMW Newport. You might get it cheaper from him. E60 members get a discount (either 20% or 25%).

I am scared of prying off the plastic though. If there is a guide somewhere that would be great.
Your $tealer is on crack. It is literally a VERY SIMPLE 20 minute job... I just did mine last week ('04 came with the flat black plastic and I wanted the Poplar Wood one that comes on MY '05+). The part including the discount from Gary @ Newport shoulbe be less than $130 or so. Here's a link with directions on the DIY
