I know we can get the cheap replicas but why is the original so expensive?

I can understand the larger items spoilers/wheels being more expensive but really...its just a flat piece of metal with some rubber. Come on! The Dinan High Flow Throttle Body is $499!!!!

Dude,

Check out the classified section and get the replica for like $40-$50 BUCKS...
You can get the knock-off badges to accompany the fake foot rest too! Then post pictures and feel the wrath of the "it's gotta be real posters "!

Well, they figured you spent a bunch on your car, what's another $500? Just like service shops who see you driving a bimmer and all of a sudden, everything cost double...!

I can't justify paying $500 for these either... what a waste of money.

Can anyone please explain to me why in the hell this ACS footrest is $500. It's obviously not made out of solid gold. True, it looks awesome and I would love to have one, but seriously $500?????

And we complain about the cost of Dinan stuff... I don't get ACS pricing at all, its ridiculous... and to think up until recently you could have ACS parts installed by the BMW dealer in the UK. Maybe the euro pricing makes more sense but I agree the trim pieces are nuts...

Oh, I forgot the most important part. It adds +10 HP to the engine. It helps keep the car's engine bay cool because all the heat gets sinked to this little piece of metal.

Note this though....you will RARELY find a PERFECT replica of these. Trinity sells the ones with the rubber dots...JB SPEED sells the ones exactly like this except the AC is not outlined. I like them though. You can get the whole set for like 70-80 bucks shipped. PM JB SPEED or TRINITY AUTOSPORT. Both vendors ave the ebrake (real is 250) and shift knob (real is 300 plus)

Because if you tell people it's worth $500, you'll prove PT Barnum correct.
