I have the 9500 hardwired with front and rear

laser "shifters" [jammers]- worth every penny!

I live in western Maryland where there are long

stretches of 4 lane interstate and the authority figures

use mostly laser. Should you wish to approach the

limits of good judgement[howsoever briefly] in your

warp driven 5,you may do so stealthily.

It's clear to me, however, that you've never used the arrows on a V1 for any extended period -- ask any V1 owner if they'd give up the arrows for any of the features you mention and I'll bet you'll have trouble finding someone who would do so...

(BTW, on the V1, you can select advanced logic mode which will eliminate the false alarms from most grocery stores entirely. You can even tweak the settings further to filter out X band which is not used much for police any more but is still used for door openers, etc.)
+1
yeah not hard to program the V1.

I used to have the 8500, but dropped it a while ago and went with the V1. In my mind, there is no comparison. The V1 is SO much better. Once you live with the arrows, you never go back.

Hi JPJ
How did u hardwire it? Yourself or professional installation? How much did it cost?
I did it myself (my 8500 has been hardwired in 3 cars and is probably 7 years old). It's not that hard, but it is easier with the cord from Escort made for hardwiring. There is a discription in the DYI section that explains it well (I think it is for a V1, but it's the same). You just drop the overhead console and tap into an ignition power feed (think it was a yellow and green wire) and ground to a screw.

Well Hello Hello all fellows

Living in Cali and having a STi driver. Been very satisfied with this RD but against Lasers, the key is Jammer. On road trip I was laser radared in Illinois, no can do when it already hits you Only 27mph over the speed limit and trooper dared to ticket me...

What comes to arrows.. I would love to get that function on my STi. Wouldn't need to speculate anymore if radar is ahead or behind. I think STi is a great RD otherwise.

I've been wondering one thing about Jammers. After all Jammers are illegal and RD's legal, except Virginia and Washington DC. So question is that when you get a laser alert, do you slower down at speed limit and switch the Jammer off or what!?!?! If you keep the Jammer on and cops don't get your speed even you're 20ft away from them, they know you're having a jammer... How this works, just curiosity.

Checkk out guys of lidar. They do extensive tests on radar detectors and laser jammers.
