My Ride: 2007 530i, Sport package, 18" crappy sport wheels, 30% tint, clear shield, diamond gloss finish, iphone w/bluetooth, Glock 19 rolling security.
...Because I almost killed the parts guy. I am just kidding about that but be told me that a body kit cost $$4300 installed and I almost lost it. Maybe I'm a little naive to all of this but I didn't think it cost that much. I've been waiting all winter to start getting this set up for the spring now it just looks like I'll be getting rims and tires. Is there a less expensive option for a quality aero kit. I love my car but not that much. $4300 for plastic trim seems a bit ridiculous to me.

grab a second hand one or part ex your car for a sports model............I would never buy a non sports model again after the same hassle with my E46, hence my E60 sport

I know Trinity Autosport has sold these to a bunch of members in the past. There is also active vendor on the forums that also sells these, but the name is escaping me at the moment.
You should be able to order it painted or not for a lot less and then have a local shop either paint and install or just install.
You might also try these guys:

+1 for the dealer charging you an insane amount...
But I would suggest a few vendors or dealerhips here to get an OEM M tech kit from....
Trinity Auto Sport (members Trinity Autosport and Nerweezy)
EuroRev (member john@eurorev)
both can also provide a quality paint job
you can also contact Garry Romani @ newport BMW: he offers 25% to e60.net members, info here http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=18067
also Tischer BMW offers an M tech kit for ~1295 + shipping http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...;catalogid=4462
the dealerships above only sell unpainted kits...but a local shop could do the paint and install...you'd still be way under the 4300.....you can save a few extra bucks and do the install yourself as well..there are a few good diy threads on here...

$4300 for Mtech is high.
A lot of the vendors, including myself can match that price. If you need, I can definitely get one painted for you and shipped out to Indianapolis!

I hate dealerships! They tried to charge me $150 for labor to put in a rear brake sensor. I bought it for $15 and put it in myself in 2 MINS!!!!

Call a few other BMW dealers and request price quotes. I had the M-tech kit installed on my 06 530xi by BMW of Peoria (which is about 4 hours west of Indianapolis) for less than $2,400 (parts, labor, paint, everything). They had my car for about 4 days but they did a great job.

My best friend is parts manager for a BMW dealership. I obviously have a "hook up" but since he is out-of-state he always advises me to find a "non-dealer" service shop.
I just found a BMW Certified Master Tech with his own shop. $160 for oil change and brake flush. Good deal IMO.
