Hey Uzzle,
my interface can control HID or Halogen, no problem for both...
i've also meet some troubles to fit h8 bulb in socket but if you adjust bulb, it will fit...
for my interface you must :
extract actual h8 bulb
connect to female h8 wich is given light information
connect to +12v
use the power outler of interface to connect an hid conversion kit or halogen bulb
fit the new bulb...
and enjoy the white AE...
i've never seen headlight with halogen but i suppose that's the same....
hope that it's more clear,
do not hesitate to reach me again...

like promise, i keep you informed...
yesterday evening,
i've simulated on my car the error of bulb missing or burned to determinate the exact value...
Now i can plug out the bulb without error
work great and with low power dissipation...
next step will be to mount interface on the car...
as soon i've done i shot it for you!
have a nice day!

^ For your bulbs to fit, Did you have Xenons stocks? Maybe I should try installing my bulbs again.
However the Angle Eyes are regular H8 type bulbs. I had no issues with fitment from these bulbs.
It took less then a minute to install, remove a cap, twist current H8 bulb, pull apart from plug and insert new H8. The bulbs are less then $20 for both.
PM me if you have questions, I can take pictures of the install if you like, in case your headlight housing is different. I am new to BMW so I dont know if they have different housings etc...
