Wow, this is so helpful. I found the items on Amazon and saved for later. Are the M6 nuts that come with
this kit this kit
not long enough or something (of course I'm assuming that this is the one you bought and not another one entirely)? Why did you need the M6/15 ones? Excuse my naivety, this is my first time to see these rivet nuts.

I believe I understand what you're saying about the MOST connections, and I think that's what I was saying earlier. To verify, you're saying that the MOST line that came from the CIC originating port was long enough that it could be moved over to the output from the HUD without having to get some type of extension? The HUD has been inserted between the output of the CIC and the cable that used to connect to the output of the CIC.

you will need an extension for sure, just get a couple of MOST cables off of amazon or any other place, once they arrive, you will notice that you can remove the 2 fiber optic cables from the connector (each fiber optic cable can be removed individually, there are 2 cables in each connector, and each MOST Cable has 2 fiber optic cables in it, one in, and one out)

Here are the videos i promised:

These videos are incredible, thank you so much for sharing. Definitely an involved job... Were there no fuse slots available at the front panel, or were you doing it oem-style and going to the rear? I can't remember at the moment which panel the diagram shows the oem fuses are at.

no problem, i'm happy to share if it can help someone.
i did an OEM install, i changed the wire colors, but i kept the same fuse and connections as the wiring diagram. the original design calls for 2 wires to the rear fuse box, so i followed that (i think it was fuse 77 and 2 pins that go to X11012, namely, pins 9 and 11)
please note that in one of the videos above, the MOST routing was incorrect, please refer to my picture a few posts up for the correct routing of the fiber optic cables.

Hi,
New to the forum i just bought an e60 a few months ago and now i found a guy selling a huge lot of e60 interior parts.
As a part of the lot i got a dashboard with a cutout for hud and hud display.
My car has a basic CCC without navigation, basic air con.
Im wondering if everything would still be as plug n play as in tutorials above.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
