I'm interested in upgrading my summer wheels/tires on my 545i sport. I'm looking for 19 inch wheels that are lightweight, well-built, good-looking, and from a well-known, reputable manufacturer. This would suggest BBS, but I've read on this and other forums that certain aftermarket wheels might require hubcentric rings to fit the E60 properly, given that the E60's hubs are slightly smaller in diameter than the E39's. Does anyone have more info on this? I like the looks and price of the BBS CH, but I've heard that this hubcentric ring might be necessary specifically with this wheel. The CH is listed on the Tire Rack site as compatible with the 545i, but doesn't specify whether hubcentric adapters are needed. I've tried emails and forum posts to Jim@TireRack, but with no response. Are these rings necessary with the BBS LM, or with HRE's? Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot.

Quick tip...many BBS wheels use hubcentric rings. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as long as the rings/hub kit is hubcentric and of good quality. No, the LM wheel does not; it's a much less popular seller than many of the other wheels, and is designed to be thier ultimate quality wheel. Every part number is just about a single fitment (that is, fits only one, or very few, cars), and it's reflected in the cost (remarkably expensive, around $5-6000 per set US$$). If you see a wheel on the BBS site that says "PFS" (that is their term for Precision Fitment System), that means it uses a centering ring or hubcentering kit. There are many quality choices out there for the E60, and BBS is one of, if not the best quality out there. Strong, light, and beautiful finish. One little item though, I think that the CH is about to be discontinued (if not already).
