how to remove OEM center caps on my car?

I realize that they can be removed if the wheels are off the car. But IMO it there's a way to remove them without taking the wheels off, then that's the route I would like to take.

A small screwdriver and cardboard from a toilet paper roll to protect the wheel worked for me. I pried at one of the catches on the cap and it came right off. A few minutes to replace all four.

Perfect I'll give that a try, the biggest thing I'm concerned about is scratching the wheel (black wheels so it will really show up), and this looks like it may be the answer.
