You can also drill a little hole in the centre cap (afterwards its damaged, but then again you have new ones) and take it out with a little hook.

Appreciate the response, but nope not kidding. I realize that they can be removed if the wheels are off the car. But IMO it there's a way to remove them without taking the wheels off, then that's the route I would like to take.
Small screw driver.....like one you would use to tighten screws on glasses.....small enough to get between the center cap and wheel....then just pry off. Only negative to doing this is that you might gouge the center cap around the edge from pressure from the screw driver, and/ or break one of the tabs off of the back. Depends on how snug the cap is in there....it may just pop off with ease

A small screwdriver and cardboard from a toilet paper roll to protect the wheel worked for me. I pried at one of the catches on the cap and it came right off. A few minutes to replace all four.

Perfect I'll give that a try, the biggest thing I'm concerned about is scratching the wheel (black wheels so it will really show up), and this looks like it may be the answer.
Thanks

Are you kidding me here......pull the wheels off, and push the center cap from the back with your thumb
Hey, we're trying to avoid work here, Mr. Industrious.

just outta curiousity how to remove my oem center caps on my rims 124 style. i want to replace them wit the carbon fiber look bmw logo center caps.

i tried wit my fingers....it hurts my fingers and it doesn't come off. i am afraid i will damage my rims wit tools.
The only way to do it without scratching your wheel or damaging the existing cap is to take the wheel off. Its a pain I know but thats the way to fo it.

Do you have black VMR center caps? Last time I checked they weren't available so I am using the stock BMW caps. Need to go to some black caps. What are you changing to?
