Hey guys,

So I finally got around to removing my trim last night to do the CF fabric wrap and had a few questions.

1) How do I remove the ash tray door once I get the center trim out to wrap the ash tray door?
2) Do I need to disconnect power to remove door panel?
3) Can spray on glue be removed from the trim if I want to reverse the process later on down the road?

Thanks

ok I talked to the tech at the dealer, and seems I don't need to remove the door panel to remove the trim from the door handle so that answers my second question.

if your talking about the ashtray in the front its best if take it out completely. Then when its out you can actually slide the cover off, then make sure you wrap it really tight! and SUPER GLUE! Your gonna have to really work it but it will help and in the end look really nice and clean...
The first time i did this i was just lazy about it and took the ashtray out and wrapped it and cut along the edges...didnt look good at all..
ill upload some pics

thanks for the reply, I did take the whole thing out but I'm not sure how to take it apart form the rest of the center console trim.

Did you do your door trim too, can you varify whether I need to remove the door panel or not.

i just did my center trim (done other pieces before)...

just push on the top of the ash tray door and it should pop right out...only held to the center trim part by little pegs on the bottom...

Super Glue is a MUST in my opinion to glue down the edges...just an FYI...make sure you have enough slide room...the CF fabric can cause the ash tray door to not slide in and out as easy as it did without it

i can only assume you mean remove the doorpanel to get to the door handle trim...and from everything i have read...the answer is yes ...which is the reason i never did the door panel trim (mine also happens to be silver not wood)
